Joanie has served as the Chief
Operating Officer of the Seattle Science Foundation since
November of 2006. Prior to joining SSF, Joanieās career
was focused on clinical research and education.
Most recently, Joanie served as the Manager of Neuroscience
Research and Education at the Seattle Neuroscience Institute
in Seattle, WA. In this role, she provided oversight and
leadership for the day to day operations of neuroscience
clinical research trials, and professional and community
education initiatives. Prior to returning to Swedish Medical
Center in Feb. of 2005, Joanie spent 9 months in a start
up medical device company managing both an international
and domestic trial for the treatment of coronary artery
disease.
With management experience in the day to day operations of Cardiovascular and
Neuroscience Clinical Research, combined with industry
experience in the medical device start-up arena, Joanie
brings a unique skill set to both the research and education
endeavors of the Seattle Science Foundation.
Joanie earned her Masters degree
at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Exercise
Physiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation, and her Bachelor
of Science at Ithaca College in Exercise Science and Health
Studies.
