The Tenth Annual Brain Anatomy Review Course for Residents & Fellows is for fellows and PGY4 residents and above.  The course will cover the latest advances in the science and art of surgical management of complex cranial neurosurgical disorders.  The course offers 3-D neuro-anatomy lectures combined with hands-on practical laboratory experience.  We will focus on how in-depth knowledge of brain anatomy and physiology can be used to effectively treat disorders of the brain from brain tumors to epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease to essential tremor, or other functional disorders. We will explore the use of functional mapping, advanced imaging, and intraoperative tools such as iCT, frame based and frameless navigation.  Deep brain stimulation techniques, endoscopy, focused ultrasound and laser ablation techniques will also be discussed.

Registration

The registration fee is waived as this workshop is being supported by educational grants from industry.  For out-of-town attendees, two nights shared accommodation only will be covered at the Hotel Monaco (room & tax) for Thursday and Friday evenings. We will take care of booking the rooms. Air and ground transportation are not covered as well as meals outside of course functions, uninvited guests, and other miscellaneous expenses.

Up to three residents/fellows from one program are allowed to attend.

Intended Audience

This course is intended for Neurosurgical fellows and PGY4 residents and above.  


Location

The Seattle Science Foundation is located at 550 17th Avenue, James Tower, Suite 600 in Seattle, Washington. Parking is available in the garage on 16th Avenue between Cherry and Jefferson at a maximum fee of $16.50.  From I-5 (northbound and southbound), take the James Street exit.  Travel east on James Street.  James will become Cherry Street.  Turn right (south) on 16th Avenue.  Turn right into the main garage entrance.
